Mandatory Vacation Accomplishments

Back to work mid-week.  I went physically to work yesterday for a library meeting and to just go back to some semblance of normalcy.  Monday, today and the rest of the week will be spent working from home.  So the previous two weeks of vacation, I wanted to get some stuff done around the house.  Here is where that stands.

  • Decided on LibraryThing and TinyCat to be used as the turtle club’s online library.
  • Cataloged all the books: https://www.librarycat.org/lib/cttcie.  Still need to go through some journals and VHS tapes.
  • Mowed the backyard lawn
  • Spring cleaned the kitchen.  Cleaned all the walls, counter tops and mopped the floor.
  • Watched all Star Trek: Picard season 1.  It’s OK.  I didn’t like the way things turned out for Picard.
  • Painted the garage door (not the big one).  It’s been like 4-5 years since the door was replaced.  Had to sand some of the weathering then applied the paint that was bought a long time ago.  Worked out great.
  • Continued watching Bleach; up to ~280 episodes.

Wanted to but didn’t happen:

  • Scrap the popcorn ceiling from the hallway and Adrian’s room.  Sprayer for water wasn’t working.  Needs new o-rings; ordered.
  • Replace the kitchen faucet.  Faucet brought before the self-isolation.  Upon inspection, I need a different water valve, one with two lines to connect the faucet and dishwasher to hot water.  Ordered part from Home Depot.
  • Drive with Adrian.  Failed.  Adrian is not motivated to practice.
  • My Sea Turtle Biology class from LLU was cancelled.  I was looking forward to it.
